I can drive on either the left hand or right hand side of the road. I learned to drive a stick-shift, in a car that had its steering wheel on the right side inside the car, and I drove said vehicle down the left hand side of the road for many years.

And then I came to America, and everything got flipped around on me.

I always thought the choice to drive on the left or right side of the road was arbitrary. I did not know that it was a French versus British thing since Napoleon's time. Also, apparently there are good practical reasons for driving on the *left* side of the road with the steering wheel on the *right* hand side. Let this homeless British man educate you.
